Um die Präsenz der europäischen Filmemacher, Fachleute und Schaffenden der Medienbranche für einen optimalen Austausch zu nutzen, veranstaltet UNLIMITED gemeinsam mit SoundTrack_Cologne neben einem Workshop ein Panel und Pitching mit europäischen RegisseurInnen und KomponistInnen.
In order to use the presence of European filmmakers, experts from the field of media and those working in this field, and to optimise the exchange of information, SoundTrack_Cologne is organising a project pitching together with UNLIMITED for European directors and composers.

Der Workshop beleuchtet die vielen Unwägbarkeiten, die sich in der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Filmemacher und Regisseur ergeben können. Am Beispiel von Filmen wie auch studentischen Arbeiten illustriert dieser Workshop die traditionelle Funktion von Filmmusik ebenso wie neue und aktuelle Zugänge. Interaktive Elemente sollen zum Dialog über die Wahrnehmung von Filmmusik ermutigen. Kollaborative Konzepte und eine anwendbare Terminologie sollen diskutiert werden.
The creative process of film music, collaborative by nature, has long been fraught with misunderstandings and outright fear. Writers and directors often seem to disregard music as a narrative vehicle worth considering at script stage.
On the example of well-known films as well as student works, this seminar will illustrate the traditional functions of film music as well as novel and recent approaches. Interactive elements will encourage a dialogue on the perception of film music. Collaborative concepts and useful terminology.

Pitching Europe

Panel: Unabhängig Produzieren - Ein Erfahrungsaustausch

In dem Panel soll aus dem europäischen Nähkästchen geplaudert werden. Der Nachwuchs an Regisseuren und Komponisten erzählt über Erfahrungen sowie Produktions- und Förderbedingungen aus ihrem Heimatland. Inwiefern wirkt sich die Wirtschaftskrise auf die Filmproduktion in Europa aus und geht es der Branche mit steigenden Produktionszahlen wirklich gut? Wie etabliert sich der europäische Nachwuchs in dieser Zeit und sind europäische Koproduktionen eine Option?
The panel will give the European inside story. Chosen participants from the competitions will report on their experiences and on production conditions in their home country. We want to know what impact the economic crisis has on film production in Europe and whether the industry, with its rising output, is truly doing well. How are the young talents trying to establish and is European Coproducing an option?

Projekt-Pitching: Komponisten treffen Regisseure

Die Europäischen Teilnehmer der Kompositions-Wettbewerbe von SoundTrack_Cologne treffen in einem Pitching auf die Regie-Teilnehmer der Wettbewerbe von UNLIMITED. Im Gepäck haben sie Filmprojekte, und Ideen auf Regieseite und Kompositionen und audiovisuelle Konzepte auf Komponistenseite.
This is a unique chance for the young European composers to present their work and to discuss it, to begin a dialogue, and to gather experiences and make new contacts for a future network. The directors, on the other hand, can get an overview of the current young European film music composers, can do their share of networking, present new projects, and use this opportunity to find a suitable composer for their current projects: documentaries, short and animated films, feature length films.

Cocktail
The pitching session will be followed by an informal get together providing plenty of opportunity to meet and discuss future possibilites of cooperation.
